Towne Lake is a large park and lake in McKinney just off I-75 with the Grady Littlejohn softball and baseball complex attached to this park facility. It seems it is different than the location you mentioned. If I am correct triple creek is North of Hwy 380. If you are in Allen I have had some luck at the Bethany Lakes Park as well. McKinney Towne Lake has better sized fish, Bethany has a lot of little fish that can be fun to catch especially when you downsize your tackle.

Go to Town Lake in Prosper for better bank fishing. Lots of nice places in Allen as well. Bethany Lakes Park, and two ponds across the street (Angel Pkwy) from Celebration Park.
