It only blows when you have time to go to the lake. This is 100% true for me at least. I only fish during the week and It happens every time.

Lived in Kansas for 9 years so you would think I’d be used to it by now. Still hate it.

I’ve lived in North texas for 11 years now. I feel like wind and spring is just normal for this area.

Only till air temps reach triple digits....then you can’t buy a breeze. Exactly

In my time on the lakes 15'ish is normal, 20'ish is common, and over 25 is typically big wx moving.. You are taken away when you get out and it is calm, or glass.. I remember years ago the wind gods were really upset and dern wind blew every day, all spring! My old kajun trihull would beat some sense into me, with its front seat using a suicide steering rod. Wind is your friend up to a point.. The weather is not something to upset, so I would tread lightly on words spoken about Mother nature. Women never forget....
I think Mother nature has a bone to pick with someone in west texas.

Most of us enjoy fishing in the spring and fall when temperatures are pleasant and, generally speaking, the fish are shallow and active. In Texas that's when the wind blows.
When does it not blow? Once the spawn is over, it's 95 degrees, and not nearly so pleasant to be out. It also doesn't blow much in the dead of winter, under high pressure and bluebird skies when it's 25 degrees after a cold front.

The wind is your friend, no place better than Texas (or at least the old real Texas)

My best stringers have come on 30+ mph days on the roughest parts of the lake.
Therefore, I try my best to never complain about the wind anymore and try to use it to my advantage.
I've also been on Amistad when it was 105-107 for 4 days in a row without even a hint of a breeze, I swore then I would never complain about the wind again.

I could live with 15-20, it's the 25-35 out here every other day that I'm sick of.

You couldn’t have stayed on the water today unless it was a well protected southwest bank. It was howling today!

The old saying is the wind doesn't blow in Texas, It just s$%^ks in Oklahoma Hey without Oklahoma we wouldn't have red dirt music, which is right up there with bass fishing in my book!
