Real nice trip Steve, glad y'all enjoyed it. I've been working on the new Palo Pinto state park and another project on the river, beautiful area of the state, love it out there.

I’m not aware of that new park, I bet that’s going to be a beautiful park, is it going to be somewhere on the river?
And yes it sure is beautiful in that area-

I just googled it, thanks!
I’m going to find out more about it-

I’d like to think that those boys will someday do this same trip with their boys.

Good for you! If more people took the time to spend time with family in the outdoors the world would be a better place.

Lol-
I like campfire popcorn!

We sometimes do this trip over 3 days, 2 days doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for fishing, 3 days is perfect, just can’t always make it work with everyone’s schedule-

Have great memories of cooking Jiffy Pop on a wood burning stove with dad at the lake. However, I've never pulled it off camping. Inevitably either the pan gets bent or I burn it. Gave up trying to take it backpacking.

Ok, you have a point here, it does usually burn one side at least, I just look at it as collateral damage, and we eat the good parts and feed the fish the burnt stuff-
