Got out this afternoon with the family after my son’s soccer game and pulled boards in 26 ft. First family fishing trip of the year. We hit the water at 2pm and made 2 good drift through a Cornucopia of fish. We had steady action all afternoon and ended up with 30 eaters up to 10 lbs. We kept the 2-3 lbrs and turned everything else loose. My buddies were sending pics of toads being caught but we had our typical spring dinkfest. Still a great time for the wife and kiddo.

Nice work Chris. It is nice to get out with the fam. I think the fast action is better than the trophies when the kids are on board. Don't get me wrong. I need toads in my life. But I like to see the kids deal with the fast takedowns...

It’s a ton of work when the rods are going down left and right but it’s also a lot of fun. I bet I untangled my wife’s lines at least 4 times. I didn’t have to untangle Jaxon once. I gave my wife a pass since it was her first trip this spring.

Im with ya on the Toads Tim. If it were just me and my son we would have looked a lot harder for something big but when my wife is on the boat it’s best to locate fish as quickly as possible, turn on some tunes, crack a cold one, and pleasure drift through em. Hopefully this weekend Jaxon and I can go look up shallow around the Shad spawning and luck into a toad.

I didn't get to fish much Saturday and not at all Sunday so I snuck out for a quick drift Monday afternoon. Wind was up pretty good but I was in an area that was a little out of the main force of it. Ran about .6 with the sock out. 5 minutes in I had a double with two 15 pounders and that was it. Only had about an hour after I caught bait. It was enough to scratch my itch and hopefully get me through to the weekend...
