Sad sight going into Grimes the other day. What was once a wild overgrown part of the lake that always had clearer water is now ruined by someone that is building yet another RV park. (because Fork needs more RV parks....??)

For those of you that don't know, the land touching the water (and within the flood plain) on Fork is not owned, it is "leased back" by the land owner that touches that property. To see that the county and SRA allowed someone to destroy so much land that they don't actually own is very concerning and disappointing.

Talked to the county that pointed to the SRA, SRA pointed back to the county, and so on. Nobody wants to take responsibility for allowing that to happen. A few people were definitely not fans of what was happening but can't do anything about it. They need to hear more complaints to make changes.

Little by little this lake is turning into Cedar Creek. The authorities sit on their hands and won't change basic laws/rules to prohibit more of this commercialization. If you are like me and are disappointed by what is happening in Grimes and other parts of the lake, please contact Wood County and strongly encourage them to stop allowing more RV parks.

Rant over.

It's happening on rayburn too. Supposed to be illegal but I guess it isnt enforced. I even saw one stretch last year someone had sprayed all the hay grass with something clear down into the water. I cant complain much though, I didnt report it.

I saw that also. Ruining the area, same as Eugene ditch, along with the back of the second creek on the left in White Oak.

Sad but $$$ is more important once they totally destroy most of the lake only then will they realize they screwed up but it will be too late.

When we had our lake house on Fork SRA had very strict and specific rules covering the leaseback. You had to have their permission to take down a tree on it. Donโ€™t know why they are not enforcing their rules!

Between Ford and Ray. No ramp and no docks in Grimes.

Red circle is Grimes, blue circle is Ford.

thank you guys. I never knew that cove had a name. Been know to hold schools of big bass from time to time. I guess the campsites may screw that up some.

My buddy lives on the other end of the new camp ground in Ray.

Getting to commercialized all over the lake. Next will be solid retaining walls and not much natural shoreline. Never thought it would get this bad here. realmad

I doubt the whole lake will get that bad in my lifetime but then I am 20 years older than you Marc. And although they are building some single homes here and there most of the new construction seems to be these RV parks and storage units.

The whole Lake Fork area like the rest of Texas is getting more crowded. At least it seems that way to me.
