I would take 635 around the north side of Dallas. Stay on it around until you hit 175. Then 175 over to Athens. That is just me. I hate going through Dallas. If you don't know precisely where your turn is, they won't let you in that lane.

635 over and down around Dallas to 175.

The WAZE app
Will give you the fastest route for the time you are leaving and alter the suggestion in real time depending on wrecks, etc.

Is fastest = best ? Or do you want most scenic? Or the one that takes you past the better BBQ places?

If it’s early in the morning, 635 to 80 to 20.

114 to Loop 12 south to 20 and you’re good to go.

Get the WAZE app. It gives you directions and will adjust the route for traffic conditions.

I used to live near the Plano Rd. and 635.

The 635 route is best, but know that the afternoon work rush hourS ( 3:00 - 6:30pm) will be BRUTAL.

I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us.

Definitely use Waze, there is a lot of construction on 635 east of 75 and there are no service roads or shoulders if anything happens the backups are miles and miles. However when you reach 175 it is easy going. The route through Dallas is ok early and dead mans curve is now straightened out with new construction.

No way, 5 years ago you could half arse get around the metro mess if it wasn’t rush hour or a wreck, now it’s jacked up 24/7.. I swear none of you metro mess folks work, like ever.. go north to Oklahoma cut East and then cut back down, fastest route

This was how I went when I was making the drive 20 years ago. 635 has gotten better since then
