I'm lacking in experience on this lake (fished it once, last fall). Whatever you can and will share will be appreciated by myself, the wife, kids, and friends that are camping with us as well. Water temps, areas unsafe to run, areas with no fish grin ...Hoping to run into some bucketmouths and some sac-a-lait as well....we will be staying at the State Park....thank you in advance

There was a map published not too long ago which showed the east/west boat lane. Do a search for the map and that will help.

Just got off of Sandlin. Water temp dropped 5-6 degrees in the last couple of days, made fishing tough for us.
Did catch some blg crappie up shallow that ate a baby brush so I'm assuming someone who was targeting them could sack em up. Found a few bed fish but they were spooky and were not locked up.

Fishing has been off the last 3 days. Might pick up tomorrow and I would say definitely Sunday and through the week should be good.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Water looks great...not crystal clear...bass fishing was okay, nothing to write home about (numbers better than size)...the crappie and white bass carried the trip, especially for the young ones...water temps 69-70 up north, and 65-68 mostly when you weren't up north

Water clear; 63 degrees; 0.01 high. Black bass are excellent on top waters, finesse jigs, chatter baits, frogs, and skirted jigs in 2-10’’ near shorelines, brush, and in the creeks. Crappie are excellent on minnows and chartreuse jigs in brush piles, under docks, and in creeks. Catfish are good on cut bait and punch bait in 8-15 near baited holes.
