IMO they are going to be hard to paddle in even a small amount of wind similar to a paddle board but worse because it has more freeboard. It's not real light for an 11 foot kayak. If you're fishing rivers or a pond I think it would be fine. I wouldn't buy this to fish a lake or bay. I watched a video of a man paddling on Aransas Bay into the wind in an Outlaw and he was having a hard time to put it lightly.

I see that. Wouldn't that be true of any boat of that width with that style hull?

To me what makes this kayak hard to paddle is the height of the seat. One of the highest positioned seats in the fishing kayak market. The higher you are in the wind the more resistance you get like a sail. The width is the other factor I didn't mention earlier but yeah that would be the same in most kayaks that are that wide. It's just the Outlaw has the width and the height working against it. Just my opinion.

Yeah, very high sitting yak for sure. My dad took his out today and seemed to really enjoy it. Now, he is not a all day paddle for miles in a trip fisherman as most of his use of the yak will be smaller 20-50 acres ponds and river fishing. He was in a yak he was not able to move a ton in and was not able to stand up. I think the freedom to stand, move, stretch the legs was speaking louder than the cons.
