Texas Parks and Wildlife is slowly continuing to catch up on their record certifications. I just received this Black Bullhead fly fishing private water state record. The fish weighed 2.41 pounds and was 15.50 inches long. It took months of active fishing last year to get a fish over 2 pounds to hit my fly. Congratulations, that is a very nice one on a fly. I had no idea they would even hit one. If you spend enough hours, you can catch almost any fish on a fly,

How many records do you currently possess?
Interesting question. The overall answer is not enough. If you count all Texas certificates, I have several hundred. Throw in over 50 freshwater world records on top of that. But a couple of decades ago, I made a crazy high official Texas state record goal. It would basically double the number of state records ever achieved by another angler. I have worked on that goal diligently over the last several years. I will hold back the number of official Texas state records I have until I reach my goal.  Stay tuned, and thanks for the interest. It shouldn’t be much longer.
