I have a Sewell Dunton 155 bamboo fly rod. It is in a sock with 2 tips. Anybody have an idea if this is valuable? Thanks

Some of the rods by Sewell Dunton are fairly valuable. In 1954 the Montague Rod Company was sold to True Temper. Sewell Dunton assisted with the foreclosure and purchased the machinery, bamboo stocks including partially built rods and components. He also hired some of the Montague employees and moved it all to Greenfield, MA. The new company produced rods from the partially built rods and some rods from other companies and imprinted Sewell Dunton INC. on the rods. New rods built in the plant were sold as Anglers Choice and some of them used top of the line components and had actions that matched some of the best rods of the time. Dunton sold the plant to Thomas & Thomas in 1974. The Model 152 Anglers Choice had a flamed finish, bronze Perfection guides and an aluminum case. It was 7'6" long and weighed 4 oz. The Model 155 was same as 152 except for a lighter action and the rod was 1/16 oz. lighter. If in good condition could be worth several hundred dollars.
