The damn Ivie hype has gotten me and im thinking of live imaging.
Ive always wanted 360 and LiveScope never really grabbed my attention since I dont think it will lend well for me and my style at my home lake where i fish 95% of the time. Seeing what livescope is doing this spring has me thinking tho. Wondering if I should bite the bullet and save up for live imaging.
My home lake fluctuates drastically with the water levels....so driving around for hours everyday looking for a spot isnt the best thing to do since those spots change so often due to fluctuations. So I dont think LiveScope would be good for that scenario. Now...I feel like mega360 can be a tool. Figure I can drop the TM in a cove and just start moving and cast at targets I spot on the 360....I figure I can even do this for offshore fishing. And even though its not live imaging, I feel like being able to pinpoint cast at targets/high percent spots can be more effective than trying to scope them out...cuz that thing is still a targeted beam compared to the swath of real estate the 360 is showing.
Let me know if my thinking is off in how you all tend to use it. Would you recommend one over the other? Both is 100% out of the picture for me...but im trying to talk myself into one! LOL

I have been playing with Perspective View with my Livescope and can tell you I really like it. Now you are not going to get a live image to look like a recorded image from Mega 360 but you can definately see fish and cover.

I put 2 live scope up front and think this set up is better than the live scope and 360. I get twice the coverage and can see a lot more action with barely moving the head of the motor. I have mounted the rear trolling motor and linked in with the front Motor and the foot pedal operates both servos simultaneously, similar to how the Yamaha Helmaster is designed. Once in position and spot lock horizontal to my target I have about 170° view so no need for 360. I’m looking for fish not brush and not fishing behind me. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/download/Number/19929/filename/57553739-41B1-45A4-862C-7AC1E38CBB35.png) None of the above is true, a friend sent me this photo of a crappie fishermen setup he met. Is this where things are headed...

I run the 360 / Livescope. Typically utilize 360 to pinpoint the structure and Livescope to determine if the fish are present. Definitely eliminates time casting when the fish are not present.
The one advantage of this approach is it allows you to focus on gaining confidence in baits you typically don't throw and get the opportunity to cast where you can locate fish.

Which one would you choose if you could only have one? The 360 or the Livescope? I was considering 360 only...

For Bass M360
For Crappie LS I primarily bass fish, so was thinking the 360 would show me stuff to cast at below the surface out away from boat kinda like side imaging would. Am I thinking correct?

Yes you are absolutely thinking correct. When fishing shallow you will often find cover in the mid depth range from say 5-15ft that gets very little pressure. Some of my biggest fish last year came off cover like that. Those fish are less pressured and often times are in that no mans land that the "deep water" guys miss and the shallow water fishermen are typically sitting on top of. If I had to pick one it would be mega 360. With that said I have not had my livescope very long so I don't have the confidence in it just yet. My summer goal is to gain that confidence. My biggest issue with livescope is that I just hate it on my trolling motor. When on spot lock it makes the livescope near worthless. I've seen a few guys actually mount the livescope transducer on the 360 pole. I may try that.

If you only had one....would it annoy you that you didnt have the other? And of course...if you had to choose one which would you choose? I have been playing with Perspective View with my Livescope and can tell you I really like it. Now you are not going to get a live image to look like a recorded image from Mega 360 but you can definately see fish and cover. About what percent of the area youre facing do you feel the perspective mode covers well...without having to move it all over the place? I run the 360 / Livescope. Typically utilize 360 to pinpoint the structure and Livescope to determine if the fish are present. Definitely eliminates time casting when the fish are not present.
The one advantage of this approach is it allows you to focus on gaining confidence in baits you typically don't throw and get the opportunity to cast where you can locate fish. Having used both like you have....if you only had 1 would it annoy you that you didnt have the other? Can you get by with just one....or which would you choose if you could only choose one. For Bass M360
For Crappie LS thats pretty much what I always had in my head! I was calling it crappie scope before I heard other people calling it that. Just going off what I saw seemed to be perfect for crappie....and just OK for bass fishing. I think with bass theres more value in the ability to cover more water...where crappie seem like if you can find one or a good tree/brush pile youll find a mess of them (im not a crappie fisherman tho to be honest). So that 360 has me interested
