Got the itch to throw the 8 inch Hudd again.

Problem is that the jig hook constantly catches vegetation. Vegetation is really coming back since the Texas winter storm killed off all of the tilapia in the pond.

Has anyone ever tried installing weed guard in the top of an 8 inch Hudd?

Thanks

I haven't tried it myself but I have seen guys use a rubber band from the line tie to the barb. I also think Mark Pack's (RIP) idea on his jigs with a piece of heavy mono might work.

Less gritchin', more fishin'

Look on YouTube. There are videos how to do this.
