Anyone ever owned or fished out of one? If so, thoughts? Pro's/Cons?

I bought one at the beginning of this year. My two previous boats were a NItro Z8 and and a 202 Champion. The Z8 had a 250 Pro XS. The Champion had a 250 XS from Mercury Racing. The Caracal has a Merc 225 4 stroke. The Champion was a high 70's mph boat. The Nitro and the Caracal are both low to mid 70's depending on load and people. The Nitro and the Caracal both fish very good. The ride in the Caracal is very good for a 19'8" boat and is better than the 20'2" Nitro. The Nitro ride was not bad once I learned how to adjust the jackplate depending on conditions. The ride in the Champion was the best of all three but it did not fish near as good. My Caracal has a good hole shot. The setup of the Caracal's front deck is different. I do like it but I cannot stand the rod organizers. I have never liked any rod organizers though. The problem with the rod box is that the floor of the rod box drops down on the end that the butt of the rods are at. Therefore, if you take the organizer out the rods would all sit angling up and it would limit the number you could get in the rod box. I do not normally put rods in the other rod boxes as I use them for storage. The boat has a good amount of storage, rides very good, fishes great, is very solid, and is comfortable. I plan to build some kind of flooring in the rod box eventually to level the floor and take the rod organizer out. Overall, I am very happy with the boat.

I you flash one I would make sure it is a Yamaha and not a new Merc. I was informed that Merc can look back into the ecu and it will tell them if and when it was ever flashed, even if it has been set back to factory. I guess if its oul of warranty it would not matter though.

No interest in flashing one. Only looking to get the best out of it while keeping the engine stock.

Good luck flashing any of them. The feds and Mercury cracked down on this and ended it. No reputable company will dare do it now.

How come? There nothing wrong with suping up a boat to go fast. Same as a race car. Drag boat, etc....

Sir, I purchased my 2018, Caracal from Mr. Wayne at The Boat Shop in Kirby, TX. It is stable in rough water and has a lot of storage. I pulled the rod holder out of the passenger side rod which allowed a lot more room. I use the center rod holder box for my rods. I get 67 with full live well and half tank fuel on each side-with a bravo 1, 4 blade prop. Hole shot is great. Best boat I ever owned, I’ve had a Ranger in the past (was great but not as good overall).
Hope this helps.
Curious to know the type prop that others get 70+ with a caracal?

I have a 2019 and agree with all that RKT said. It has a lot of storage but I have reshuffled stuff around five or six times to get it maximized. I keep a cheap butt seat sitting in that hole under that center rod storage in case a partner needs it. I have a Fury 24p four blade prop that was worked by Ronnie Gilbert on it now, and I am really happy with the hole shot. Even with going to the four blade, the boat does 70 with me and a partner with the 225 Merc. Its fun to drive, its a dry ride, and stable. Fishes like a longer boat for sure. Bought it mainly for the wide front deck. All the small design touches on any of the premium BC models is very impressive. The Lynx is a great choice as well, but will run you over $80K new with a ghost and two graphs etc. If you get one, PM me and I will send you a video of my storage layout, might could be a good start to save you some time.
