The spawn is in full swing at our fishing holes. Two weeks ago it was the crappie spawning and now the red ears. They are so much fun to catch! They are hard fighters and are so delicious to eat food
We have been catching them near shallow points and anywhere we can find hydrilla. [Linked Image]

We are also catching big bluegill. They are feeding heavy getting ready for their spawn.

coolphotos Totally Awesome! thumb

Side Note: Catching more big bass than sunfish. Have not seen any sunnies on nest. Bass are chasing anything moving in the creeks I am fishing. The Bluegill/Sunfish are in hiding mode. hide2 I did catch my first Rios of the year. thumb

Great pics PL ! Those are some gorgeous red ears. It’s great to see some pure ones. And so healthy ! We catch them out of Fayette but it’s rare to get one that’s not at least a little hybridized.
