From what I saw and heard the striper were pretty fired up last week. The only thing I didn't see was how they were being caught. Without giving away to much, im wondering what was the best method? Seems like its past dead sticking season but still early for trolling or live bait. If any one could give me an idea on whats working I would appreciate it.

Circle hooks and corn dogs in 10-35 FOW. Red Cajun line seems to elicit strikes better than regular monofilament. Use mustard if they are finicky... Tight Lines!

I was able to snag a few on large shiners drifting over some trees but might have done better if my spotlock would have worked. Hopefully I can get it fixed and back out. Seen several fishing for striper. Hopefully others will add.

I was on PK yesterday down by the dam. Water is as clear as I have ever seen it. With my boat tied up in 20 feet of water at the Cliffs Courtesy dock, I could see the bottom so clearly as to make out individual gravels. I Could see LM Bass on beds in 5 feet of water from very far away.
Good time to patrol those shallow areas where Shad will be later in the year and make note of junk on the bottom you don't want to lose a net in. In areas that are 10 foot deep it looks like a swimming pool it's so clear. Water temp was 59 in the main lake and as high as 62 in shallow water,

Drifting is key right now on PK. Whether using live bait or lures , especially when the pressure goes up as in 30.5 ! Drifting over trees has been successful as the fish relate to trees when pressure rises .
