I wish you all the best of luck with it. I'll never buy another MG trolling motor personally. No kidding? That’s how I feel about Minn Kota. X3, I've had much better luck with motorguide, still have tour model so haven't had to deal with the turds they came out with after it, I hope this new tour pro is a hit.

The tour pro is louder than I expected it to be. If you turn it up past 2-2.5 you can hear it from the back of the boat. The foot pedal is very jumpy, which could probably be adjusted out. Monday was cloudy and the gps never got signal, so I never could use anchor mode, but it has worked the rest of the week even yesterday in the rain. Yesterday I hit anchor mode about 15’ away from a dock I wanted to fish. I had already turned into the wind to position myself, and it let me drift into the dock. I’m done. I’m returning it. The Garmin or Lowrance have to be better than this.

Yes, I agree. For the amount of money these things cost, that is not acceptable. Have you tried calling and talking to a Tech, don't know if you have to do a GPS cal or something like that.. Maybe they will make it right before you re-install. At least you can see how the service is.

Yesterday I was about to pull the trigger on ordering a Lowrance Ghost. I had been hearing rumors that Motorguide had started shipping their tour pro, so I called Bass Pro in Grapevine and Cabelas in Fort Worth. Both stores had 2 of the 24v 82lb units in stock!! I ended up buying one. I’ve been a motorguide guy for 16 years. I hate buying the first of anything. I really hope after the year plus delay motorguide got them right. MotorGuide has dominated the market forever. Good choice.

I called a tech the first time I took it out and it couldn’t find a gps signal, and they said if there’s any interference or cloud cover that it might not work.... My phone never has trouble finding a gps signal and neither does my graph. I might call them again but the noise is a big problem too. Not sure how they would fix that.
