Depends on water temp and pairing. I have seen a pair come in and be done in 48 hours.
In saying that the conditions have to be perfect.
Fish will spawn through out the whole year but the major spawn happens when water temps are 60-70 degrees although some native bass will go earlier in 52-58 sometime.

The male will stay days. A female makes the bed, the male arrives and fertilizes the eggs then the female leaves.
As far as what will it to take to drive them off the bed, I have floated my boat over a nest numerous times in 3 to 4 feet of water and the fish would not leave.
May 4, 2023 Once again, I agree with you.

Females can spawn for a while on several different beds. I've seen males on a bed for 7-10 days. Some cone and go quickly, others stay for days. The males make the beds....

Here is a good question what is the deal when you find just a female on the bed without a male. Or when you find multiple females on the same bed? Always seems the big ones are way easier to catch if there isn’t a male around.

I caught an 8.4 today that was with a male but as soon as I got him to bite she went nuts. I shook him off 4-5 times then she took over the bed and I caught her

Rules of Bass Fishing During the Spawn:
1. There are no rules
2. They will make you look stupid
3. What works on one fish may go unnoticed by the fish next to it
4. When you think you've got it figured out refer to Rule 2
