So, I bought Rik Jacobsen's "Texas State Waters and a Bit Beyond". I have my own maps I have put together thousands of waypoints from research and fishing, and was hoping to locate some more spots inside the 9nm limit, eh.. see if there were some I did not know about.
Now, the guy loved fishing.. heh... and could not be happier to see a lot of the locations I already have, but wow.. should have been Texas offshore and a Bit inshore. I mean...hardly any of it is inside Texas state waters....maybe 10-15%, max. Granted.. still an awesome book for someone that is starting out in Texas, but to be billed as "Texas State Waters" and almost all of it is waaayy outside the state waters, is pretty dadgum misleading.
That being said.. I love maps.. heh.. so still keeping it :P Just disappointed a little. I would not care if it was a list of Snapper honey holes or just .. fishing spots... heh.. I love maps either way, just wish it actually had in-state water spots as advertised.
I know... he passed away, and, again....the smiles on the faces of the people.. honestly.. that makes me enjoy it.. heh.. but, just had to say.. if you say "find and catch fish year round in Texas state waters"... the majority of the spots should be... state waters.
Jes sayin...
That being said....I shall add it to my stack - o - books :P

I have considered buying that book a few times and never got around to it. I have a small 18' boat and can only go offshore on the best of days. That being said, I have ben out ~40 miles or so when I feel lucky and the weather is nice. I only fish out of Freeport or Galveston when I do go out. Are there any spots along the upper coast that are within 9 miles other than the widely known about middle and east bank, se lump, and the vancouver reef?
