I was wondering what everyone is using for topwater, rod, rod power, action and length, along with reel, reel ratio and should I run braid or mono??? In the past I have just used a 7ft medium moderate, with 15lb mono on a 7.5:1 reel... this would be for spooks, pop-r’s, soft plastic frogs, whopper ploppers........TIA

Took you longer to type that than it would have taken to type your favorite topwater rod and just answer the OP's question

I’ve got 6 favorite top water rods. It would take a while to explain each ones setup and purpose.

If you take a look at my answer in the other post you would see that I use several different ones depending on the technique, therefore it was faster to direct him to all the information given by myself and others. Maybe next time you will read a little more before you decide to post a negative comment.

Small top water go with Shimano Expride 6'10" M
Bigger - walking bait go with Shimano Zodias 7'5" MH

I have both those rods and they are the real deal at a middle of the road price.
