Went to Eagle Mountain this morning, was on the water just before dawn. 100 foot out from the boat ramp at twin points, and literally billions of shad, on both sides of the boat for probably 200-300 foot. Pulled up about 60 on the first cast of my net, all 6 to 8 inchers.

Blue Cat bite was killer till about 9:30, then it just shut off. I was even dragging the baits right on top of them, and they literally would not hit them. But, I managed about a dozen before it turned off, anywhere from 5 to 15 lbs. Everyone of them fat as a butterball. Switched over to A rigs , and trolled for Hybrids. Caught about ten of them in a couple hours. A very good day, but more over just happy about the amount of shad I saw, and caught. I even released what I didn't use.

Best day I've had on the water in a while.
