cheers Well replaced inner & outer bearings& races. New seal. Also new bearing buddy. My Question is i went to put grease in, but seems my grease gun isnt pumping grease. So boat to lake and ran motor some fished a little. Sorry for long read!! Question is without grease in bearing buddy you think water entered the hub. Meaning another tear down!! Thanks for replies.

You should have packed the bearings with a bearing packer before you put them in there. They can burn rather quickly without that. You should also have pre-packed the hub cavity with grease before assembly and before installing the bearing buddy. At that point, you would have been missing very little grease. It's not clear to me how much was or wasn't in there, so those bearings could have been exposed to high heat, bringing their status into question - even beyond whether or not there's water in there. Did you prime the grease gun? They can get air trapped and not work.

cheersThanks Flippin .I did pack both bearings. And dont understand why pack the hub cavity?? Any how my gun takes a cartidge, so put in a new one ,pulled trigger 6/7 times, nothing. Hubs were not hot bot only went 25 miles & not over 50mph for more than 10 miles, stop go. Checkrd hub at ramp before launch , it was cold. Wil look at it sat . Thanks

If hubs were cold when you got the ramp, that says a lot about condition, probably no issue. Does grease cartridge have a membrane you have to puncture?

Are you saying the zerk blew out of the hole on one of the bearing buddies? Was it new at the time? If so, I'd be complaining where I bought it.

Some of the carp I have found on my boat just makes me wonder what people are thinking. I just figure it is Cajun engineering both dealer and previous owner.
