Never borrow or loan out anything with a motor/engine. Wisdom from my dad.

If they aren't close enough that you would be willing to take your time to drive your own truck and do it for them, I'd probably cordially decline.

One post borrow comment was "man your truck is snappy." I don't know WTH that means. I guess its Scion talk.

if my truck in somewhere, so am I.

a few reasons I don't loan mine out, someone gets in a wreck and does serious body damage to a person, they are not on the hook for the lawsuit, you are as the owner. I loaned out my work truck in colorado a few times, always to someone I knew very well and for a very short time, once I got it back with fuel put back in.
are you sure they can afford the repair if it is not a warranty deal? even minor stuff now is expensive, price getting a headlight changed out at a dealer.
as for your neighbors, sell one of the yuppy shoeboxes and go buy a used toyota, huge trade up and they can show off that man bun with the windows down.

you are in the right and so is bigbob, they drove the snot out of it.

How do you reside in Texas without a Truck is my question, lol.

I understand if you're having vehicle issues or maybe broke enough to where you can't choose what you drive and I have borrowed vehicles before for one of those reasons but damn, it sounds like they need a truck often enough to own one.

Today I said no. No more driving my truck around because you found some [censored] you want to buy or picking up a yard of dirt. The reaction I got was "omg are you serious". Am I in the wrong here?

No you are not wrong at all, what I find more audacious is the neighbors make plans as though it's a given they can have access to and use a vehicle not theirs.

Not at all. Had a neighbor do that to me. I asked them why don't you just buy a truck? Why? When we can borrow yours. Next time they asked to borrow it I said, Why borrow when you can own? He is an attorney & his wife is some corporate exec for a major insurance. It's not like they don't have the money. They are now proud owners of a ford ranger, lol. Oh, and they are libtard demorats. I had to watch the dance when joe blow & kameltoe won. eeks

It's one thing if he ask you to help him haul/move something, completely different situation asking to drive your truck.
