My wife knows some couples that don't own a truck.... but always need to borrow a truck. My neighbor is in the same boat. Somehow borrowing my truck always gets brought up.

I understand if you're having vehicle issues or maybe broke enough to where you can't choose what you drive and I have borrowed vehicles before for one of those reasons but damn, it sounds like they need a truck often enough to own one.

Today I said no. No more driving my truck around because you found some [censored] you want to buy or picking up a yard of dirt. The reaction I got was "omg are you serious". Am I in the wrong here?

If it’s someone I trust I don’t mind letting them borrow mine. But it doesn’t happen to me as often as it sounds like it does to you. I don’t think you’re in the wrong.

Nope, not wrong at all. I’ve loaned my trailer to family but that’s about as far as I go. You’ve already been nice enough to loan your pick up truck to the neighbors. They need to spend the money get a hitch for the car and go rent a trailer.

It’s YOUR truck-
YOU are paying for it-
If someone gets offended because of that I would believe the problem is theirs-

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

No your not. No one treats our trucks like we do. My middle name isn't " Enterprise ". I feel your pain. Home depot has a rental truck . Its like $24.00 for the first 90 minutes.

You should refer them to a used car lot (Texas Motorcars) and have them take a truck out for a "test drive."

Put one of these lids on the back of your truck. That will stop that hauling refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc.
Tell em it is not a "hauling truck".

That would be a full no go for me. You're good.

There are plenty truck rental shops around to "borrow" one from.

The people across the street own two Scion Cubes because one didn't provide enough estrogen. They're always wanting to take my truck into town on errands.

My recent favorite was "so exactly how much weight can your truck hold?" Its a 3/4 ton and all but if anyone is going to put a ton in my damn truck, it's me.

One post borrow comment was "man your truck is snappy." I don't know WTH that means. I guess its Scion talk.

Once or maybe twice. But making a habit out of it is catering to a cheapskate. If you need a truck that much then sell your car and get one or put a trailer hitch on your car.

I'd always be "busy using mine".

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

And probably took selfies with it and posted on FB and IG so all of their man bun having, skinny jean wearing, hyphenated last name friends could see how manly they were.
