Pulling for 6 time MLF Pro Circuit champion John Cox

6 time winner on the MLF Pro Circuit? If he shows up late to Rayburn and fishes it, it will be his first appearance in a MLF tournament. His past is with FLW, (that were legit Pro’s) which is now a AAA league and is being branded as part of the Big 5 circuits, right?

My understanding is he only just this season joined MLF Pro’s via an invite, and that’s just because someone miscalculated and thought they were going to get a feather in their cap and a good press release, at the expense of several others who were above John Cox in AOY standings on that Big 5 AAA circuit.

Offering John Cox a spot on the BPT and if he does not give priority to that league it is a slap in the face to MLF/BPT. Which is exactly what MLF/BPT deserves by skipping over higher ranked anglers in their BPT "feeder" circuit. Thank you John Cox

Still absolutely shocked that anyone actually cares enough one way or the other to post a negative post (nevermind multiple per day) about any of the bass fishing tournament formats. Killin me Smalls.

Meanwhile;
On an aspect that people may actually care about,
The area around the lake has received nearly 4"s of rain in the past 24hrs.
The lake has been rising today at about an inch an hour.
Wilson dam (Wilson is the reservoir above Pickwick) is not spilling however that may change soon.
Pickwick dam has been increasing its release throughout the day.

About half of Pickwick is a fairly narrow "river" type fishery.
All of the lake is very prone to strong current as the areas outside the main channel are somewhat shallow when compared to a Guntersville.
The lake will be ripping tomorrow.

I'm interested to see how this alters guys strategies. Smallmouth might be king as they will really be concentrated and on the feed.
On the other hand, the rain has been warm (mid 60s). There are some areas (with a long boat ride) that may have big largemouth moving into shallow water as it rises.
Will be interesting.
