We took a vacation day hoping lighter traffic during the week, nope it looked worse than a weekend used too. I have fished this lake since the 90's so I know what the normal traffic has been over the years. Fishing always gets more attention in the spring but this is just insane, it was literally bumper boats in the coves you could cast into other peoples boats. Is this still covid affect or more people moving here?

I'm on Rayburn and it's rockin busy from Feb through August. Clientele changes as summertime is much more pleasure boaters. I'm just used to crowded conditions.

It’s also spring break for many schools, that’s not helping either.

Grow the Sport, Grow the sport...wait...the lakes are so crowded...not to mention all the free down payments being sent out quarterly it seems by the government. Kids get to choose to go to school or "home school" now, people "working" from home now or on indefinite unemployment, lakes are going to be crowded.

Sping break, relief checks, unempolyment paying 800 a week. Of course they are crowded.

As a fisherman I never understood the allure of "growing the sport ". Not once have I been on the lake and said, "You know, what would really make the day better would be having a dozen more boats in this cove."

I also never thought how much nicer it would be for everything fishing-related, from boats to tackle, to cost more because so many people are trying to buy it. Maybe if I were a boat manufacturer I would understand. Cha-ching is a universal language.

Local DFW sewers yes it is really crowded on the weekends. If I go it is get there early and be gone by noon. I've hit a couple of smaller lakes that are over looked and they seem to not be as busy.

I booked a fishing week on Fork, Monti, and Cypress for spring break in 94.
Fork and Cypress were both packed boat on boat.
Monti was fairly open because the spawn was in January that year and we were late......

It is nothing new

Amen! I've been screaming this for years. As an old, I've seen it get progressively worse with the passing of each year. I'm almost at the point of throat punching folks that say "grow the sport" SMHD!!!!!

Agreed! "Grow the sport" = "grow MY sales." The $ and marketing drive everything...I'll add politicians marketing Texas to the West & East coasts and raising taxes to put more money in the coffers...while the population doubles, taxes increase, services get worse, and our park/lake resources stay the same size (with increased admission prices and overcrowding). I know increase is normal, but the jump seems to be exponential over the last few years and the out of state developers don't seem to have a problem with it (surprise, I know).

YEP!!! I could throat punch Perry for his “bring your business to Texas” campaigning. Radio commentators with there “we welcome new business to Texas” garbage. Oh BTW we hope you come here and vote and act like a conservative Texan. Ya right, ask Clorado how that worked out for them!
