Finally caught my first few fish on a topwater lure Sunday evening. I'll have one tied on from now until December! banana

Three of them. A frog, a buzz, and a popper.

Man... I fished the heck out of a Frog on Rayburn and Toledo for 4 days and never had one eat it. I did have one pull it down but she didnt get it good enough to get a hook in.

How shallow was it? In my experiences, you gotta throw it really shallow or over tall grass beds this time of year. The deeper fish ain’t gonna go far to eat it, but if it’s 1-2 ft away, they won’t be able to resist it. Specially if it rolled over a shallow bed.

Buda knows a little bit about throwing a frog. Dean Rojas calls him before making any modifications to his baits.

LOL!

Last year I was catching frog fish in 54 degree water on Rayburn... Toledo is always a tough early spring frog deal but darn it there supposed to eat it on Rayburn starting at the end of February! I know a couple of big bags Saturday were on the frog, that deal just wasn't happening on the end of the lake we were on, no matter how hard I tried to force it.

Caught one that weighed in on a frog tonight. All others were on the fairy wand Senko rig.
