The Ray Hubbard Bass Club had our first members only tournament of 2021 last Saturday March 13th on Cedar Creek. Considering a few weeks ago we had lakes frozen over, the fishing has rebounded quickly. Reports of spawning fish were plentiful but they were finicky. There were no giants caught which was a little strange for March. 26 boats came out to fish with us and everyone was in shorts by the end of the day. When the weigh in was done, the team of Tommy Climer and Ronnie Manning came out on top with a great bag of 18.68 pounds. Paul Spann and Bill Gammons narrowly won big bass with a 4.24 big girl. Here are full results and pictures.

Jeremy McLeroy and Cody Stewart had one for 3.12. Nice to have Jeremy back with us!

Jim Phillips and Jamie Norris had two for 3.89

[Linked Image]

James and Shellye Crawford had the early lead for big bass with their one for 4.18

Josh Mulkey and Tim Havins weighed three for 6.93

[Linked Image]

Clark Crenshaw and Roddy Bieber had four for 7.69

[Linked Image]

Preston Smith and David Horton weighed four for 8.07

[Linked Image]

Russell Olds and Matt Jackson had four for 8.37 and tales of several lost fish. Ouch...

Kenny Bunch and Trey Crawford had four for exactly 10 pounds. The even number got them the Atta Boy award but nothing else...

Snatching big bass honors from Mark and Vince by again .03 pounds was Paul with this 4.24 beast

Despite high odds that they would be tearing a$$ to Plano by noon, Jerry Brown and Jason Hunnicutt instead finished third with a good bag of 14.15

Finishing second were 2020 RHBC AOY Chris Atkinson and myself with a limit that weighed 14.40

Here are your winners. Tommy Climer and Ronnie Manning are no strangers to the winners circle. No giants here, just a solid sack of close to 4 pounders. Congrats gents!

Thanks to Chris for doing live well checks and Shellye Crawford for helping at registration and weigh in. Cameron Laing keeping the money straight and Paul Spann weighing fish. The hardest working crew in show business. Our next tournament will be Saturday April 10th on Lake Texoma going out of Highport Marina. An updated schedule will be posted here soon and also on our web site. Hope to see you there!
