Today I was walking down the rocky hillside to the water and could see a very large orange fish in the water. I was at Mccowen Valley on Lake whitney. I can only assume it was a koi fish. It was between 15 and 20 " long. I spooked it when I got close. Crazy fishing times.

Neat! If you see her again pinch some bread lightly onto a small J-hook. No weight. Cast it about 10ft in front of her and watch for those lips. Set the hook and hold on! fish

Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp...

If it was bright orange, it was probably a koi or goldfish. There are lots of carp in Lake Whitney and I have had anglers describe them as orange.
