Hey guys, I’m looking to get on some white bass this week. Any where you all think I should start?

Denton Creek is a very popular place to get 'em. Try here: 377 Bridge

Thanks TXMulti-Species! Its on the list.

Has anyone fished clear creek or the elm fork trinity river off the 380? The closer I get to Mckinney the more I get to fish and less time driving.

Any creek with flowing water off of the lakes should have some fish. It’s still a little hit or miss depending on where you go. Some creeks are loaded and some the fish are sparse you just have to do a little bit of scouting. The fish are pretty line shy right now so I recommend using small baits and light line.

The last couple years Elm Fork and Clear Creek have not been good for whites and hybrids, at least for me. May have something to do with the massive logjam near the 380 crossing.

I think I'll head out to Denton Creek after these storms tonight. Unless that means they start releasing water at Lavon or Denison then I'm going to the spillways, ha.

Hey guys, would the rain from last night make the creeks mucky enough I need to wait a few days? I'm thinking about heading out at around noon today.

I'd still head out! Can't catch 'em from the couch fish

I checked 4 places this morning, the first was muddy and blown out, the last 3 had hardy changed at all so location is everything.

They can get through. Other creeks were the same last year and no hybrids. It was an off year I think. The runs are usually hit or miss and going on the wrong day means not many fish.

I didn't have as much time as I planned so I hit Rowlette Creek by the wildlife preserve for like an hour. Water was high, fast, and full of debris. So no fish.

Don't guess that's ever going to get cleared, unless a torrential flood clears it out.

+1. for the most part ive had success primarily on smaller jigs and spinners with a few exceptions.

Really hit or miss depending on where you go, I think rowlett lost a bunch of the bigger fish to the gates when they were open. You could limit right now but it would be a lot of sorting through barely legal fish. As far as other lakes it still depends on the lake, some places it’s full blown other places it’s still getting going. After these rains coming in this week it will be good just about anywhere. Most of the lakes are full or close to it, so get on google maps, find some flowing water and get after it. I will say this, if you are a beginner I would start by minnow fishing. These fish just came from 30-40 feet of water and now they’re in 2-4 feet of water, they can be super sensitive to weather changes and sometimes they bite like crazy, other times they don’t touch anything but a minnow, especially early in the run. Fish light, fish slow, and carry a few minnows just in case and you will find a few.
