I'm wondering at what point do you guys add scent to your plastics? "Infusion" seems to be a big word in commercial baits right now. Not really sure how they go about that. I've tried adding scent to my melted plastic, but that doesn't seem to be very effective for me. I seem to get more actual smell just adding it to the bag after I make the bait. How are you guys adding scent to your plastic baits?

I sometimes add it to.my plastisol whioe heating it but it has to be oil based. Also use it after pouring when baits are cured and in ziplocs

im off the opinion if you dont scent during the creation process, i.e. in the plastic, it doesnt really take hold.

i do think scenting helps, but loses a lot of the punch the more its in contact with water. The times I did scent my plastics (most have scent already in em, at least most of what I throw) i would marinade in JJs clear dippin dye. JJs is hands down the best at scenting.....but I cant keep it in the boat (lterally had it leak in a ice chest on me once lol). Marinading your plastics in it does seem to make some stick well enough

EDIT:
If you take my advice and marinade them in JJs.....drain it out before you put them back in the boat! Messy mistake to make, but just happy it was easy to clean out the box after! LOL but yea, dont be cheap marinading them (really still dont need much if you squeeze the air out of the bag) and make sure you drain out the excess as much as possible

If you want dry baits, add your scent to your plastisol rite before you pour on your last re-heat.

I hate oily baits in the bag, seems like that krap gets everywhere.
