We had our usual Lewisville Spring Dinkathon today and ended up with 25 eaters and a couple of Gar. Jax got to reel most of em so he had a blast and I had fun watching. That boy loves Gar so he was over the moon when he got to reel in several. I’m gonna start fishing for those more this summer for sure. We anchored up in 4 different areas from 2-10 ft. We caught 10 dink blues early way up north by the river mouth. We caught 15 more on a wind blown rocky shore mid lake and ended with a quadruple takedown. Is it just me or do these 29 lb box anchors get heavier every dang spring. Water was 63 up shallow today so the Shad will be spawning real soon and then A
after that we can move back out to mid depths and pleasure drift.

And then no more stump roulette and no more getting snagged 6 times every time out... I'm looking forward to it. Nice job you guys! Looks like the wind wasn't too bad for you today either.

Thanks amigos! There is a slot limit on Lewisville of 30-45 inches Glen. Your fish looks a little over 10 lbs which would probably make that an illegal fish to harvest. You might want to get you a measuring tape and a scale so you don’t get busted by the game warden. We release everything over 8 lbs so they can continue to grow. The big fish in Lewisville were thinned out considerably and the ol Lake needs all the help she can get.

I'll admit that fish is a little bigger than I like to keep, but it was legal. It weighed 13# and measured 26".

Come on Glen..I’m not trying to be a dick but 13 lbs is over the slot limit every time. I’ve been fishing for these fish my whole life. I’d say maybe if you said it was 11 but 13 is over amigo. A 26” fish is 6-7 lbs I can assure you. I’ve caught a million of em...

OK Glenn it was a 6 lb beast ...you might want to remove the pic though cuz there are Game Wardens that visit this site and they know better. Just trying to help you out and possibly educate fellas that are unknowingly harvesting illegal fish out of my home lake.

Your not helping your case Glenn...lol! first you said 26” 13 lbs now it’s a pic of 29” when it’s bent a couple of different directions. I break a lot of laws too Glenn but I don’t post pics of it on a public forum. Your gonna get yourself busted Amigo.

Well, Chris, you were right and my quick measurement on the lake was off. I was able to lay that thick cat carcass on its side for an accurate measurement - 29.75 inches. I really take pride in following all game rules and regulations. I promise to be more careful in the future and not keep such big uns.
