John Soukup (Bass Tank) lead wire to wire for the win. Super nice guy and obviously knows his Garmin electronics. I watched quite a bit of the weigh in and the first day there might have been 20 people in the gallery. The last day I didn't see the large crowd Big O saw. Looked more like thirty or so people. Some technical issues but overall it looked like a well run tournament with a shoe string staff.

It looks like the showdown Saturday weigh-in is going good with the projected top 10 still to make it back to the ramp. A decent crowd has shown up too. I tried to give a look earlier to the former FLW tournament going on, but it appears someone may have forgot to pay the cloud service bill, as I was getting errors referring to cloud service when trying to launch the live stream. It must have ended being a nothing burger because no one even started a thread about it on TFF... I think NPFL did a really good job and should be congratulated for putting on a successful inaugural event and putting together what appears to be a viable circuit to move forward with. Decent weights, decent size fish, all comparable to the other trails out there, including BASS! Decent Weights??? half the field averaged 8 pounds a day or less with three days of practice on Eufaula in March.

Compare that to the 4 day event that concluded today that happened just down the road... in March!

There was 50-100 people in the crowd watching. Probably more than that on Saturday. Covid has had all the trails turnouts messed up. As far as the weights, it was extremely tough. I’ve been there with FLW Tour twice & with NPFL. Fishing was way tougher this time. In 6 days I didn’t hook 1 4lbs bass. Fish just started moving up good. Average weights would have gone up with a 4th day. There are plenty guys on this trail who can fish, you just haven’t heard of them yet.
