I went striper fishing with my parents when I was a teen, but not since (1980's). I will be camping on the main body of Lake whitney this week. I have been thinking about drifting around the river channel for stripers. I will be in a kayak and the winds are supposed to be about 10 mph. I don't know if that's to fast or too slow to be moving. Any beginners advice would be greatly appreciated.

My advice would be to go after the sandies given your setup. They should be running back in the various rivers feeding the lake and would imagine you might find a few stripers too.
