Tied these this week in anticipation of going after the sandies tomorrow. The soluble minnow was the MVP of the trip yesterday. I'll be tying up a bunch more this week.

What doesn't work for sand bass? When they're hungry, they eat. Crazy fun.

My buddy was catching them last week on a giant olive woolly bugger, which I found irritating, because that's clearly not a minnow imitation. I gave his fish a good scolding for not being proper white bass.

That angry bird minnow caught me a few on Saturday. I think I'll try it in the creeks a little later in the spring.

About 5 years ago when you could still wade fish below Lake Whitney, my brother and myself caught dozens of fish on a brown/yellow GFA hopper. It was January and there were no live grasshoppers anywhere, but the fish were hungry and it was fun.
