Looking for recommendation on where to fish near Sarasota Florida and Bass fishing guide.
I'm going to Florida to visit my daughter and looking to take a guided trip while I am there. My daughter lives on Bradenton Beach in the Sarasota area.

Careful.....you may end up wanting to move there.
I am thinking Palatka myself. No joke! I went last year when she lived up by Rodman Reservoir, took my boat and killed them , she moved since and I’m flying this trip. Palatka is way too far North of where I’ll be. Thanks

Forget the bass. Go catch some snook. Lots of good guides in the area. Look online. Solid advice-Let those little green fish spawn and go catch some Snook or Tarpon.

Sarasota isn't a strong location to be within reach of great bass water in South Florida. (I lived/fished there 20 years.) It's 115 miles to Okeechobee (city of), which is a place where numerous guides fish from. There's a nice public ramp facility on the river at the mouth of the lake that's easy to get to, and probably where you'd meet a guide. I haven't kept up with whether Lake Istokpoga is hot or a dud right now. (It can have some wide swing ups and downs.) I'd go for Okeechobee City and just go over the afternoon before you are scheduled to fish. There are numerous affordable motels in the area. Be sure to tell any guide whether or not you want to fish with any shiners for part of the day. On Okeechobee in March, I wouldn't bother. They do like to push that, and will charge a fortune for them.

not ringing my bell but I have been fishing Headwaters since it opened in August and it is the real deal All kinds of big shots coming in and fishing it, it is the best of all lakes in Florida, deep, grass of all kinds, lots of big big fish, I recommend it. but its a 3 hr drive from Sarasota, All of the Okeechobee guides are up here because it is what it is. In that area lots of Snook and Trout to be had nearby. You might consider fishing the canals and bays at night with a guide. Much less traffic and fewer people around and you would probably end up with some good fish to eat.
