Made the trip back to, "Deep in the Hart of Texas", to my friend's ranch. I was with two fishing buddies Rick aka Catyakker, and Steve. We met my friend Mark at his ranch house surrounded by Oak Trees with three nice ponds behind his house. Mark had one of his goddaughters, Katie, who had her friend Courtney with her. We fished two of three ponds for five hours and caught some HUGE Channel Cats, along with a few nice Green Hybrid Sunfish. The biggest catfish was caught by Steve with a estimated weight of 10 to 12 pounds. Steve also caught another Channel that weighed about 10 pounds. Some of the other fish weighed in the 5 to 8 pound range with several others below five pounds. Several nice Green Hybrid Sunfish, with the biggest in the nine inch range were the bonus fish caught. The HIGHLIGHT of the trip was when Katie caught her personal best Channel Cat. She fought the fish for several minutes and landed it perfectly. All fish were caught on cut bait and most were released to fight again. Steve kept a couple for the frying pan. A great day at Mark's Ranch fishing with friends. It just don't get any better!

Great fun, especially watching Katie land that big o'l Kitty fish; and of course watching Steve who just couldn't keep the biggest ones off his hook. Sure appreciate Mark's hospitality allowing us to fish his ponds; and of course Chuck (banker) who showed us the way.

Saw the post in the catfish section. I did not see the hybrid sunfish. This is a good one. Congratulations Katie on your PB, also you guys caught some monster's. Good job.
