Thank you CCTX. Ha! Yea, not me Hoss. Patience? I believe tolerance is probably better in this case. Besides learning to throw a bigger fit was very useful. I swam in the Estrogen Ocean and survived. They are incredible ladies now (like their mother) who adores their Pappa and have given us 6 wonderful grandchildren so far.

An old Troybuilt pony tiller. Paid 300 bucks for it knowing it needed some work. Bought nearly 300 in parts when the mechanic told me I needed a whole new wheel shaft. Searched for months and couldn't find the part. Called Troybuilt and It had been discontinued 10 years ago.No other part available or that would work. 600 bucks invested and I have a pile of metal that can't till. Dropped it off at the scrap yard and took my beating. Might as well have lit that 600 bucks on fire.

Just thought of something else overpaid for. When I retired from the Air Force 20+ years ago I gifted myself a set of custom fitted Callaway golf clubs. May have played 10 rounds of golf with them over the years. Haven't been on a golf course in 8 or 9 years. But still have the clubs. Bag is probably filled with a ton of black widows by now.

in 2000 - 7 Day cruise on "The Big Red Boat"

Day 3 of the cruise when trying to dock in Cozumel, the ship was boarded by customs agents and literally repossessed. The company had not paid their port fees and the monthly payments on the ship in several months. They put us in a hotel in Playa and flew us out a day later....So the 7 day cruise ended up being a 2.5 day cruise and a plane ticket back to Houston... I did get on CNN though, back when CNN was actually a reputable news org.

For the win, no kids with my ex-wife, but had to buy her share of the equity in the house. The monthly payments made me so mad every time I wrote a check, finally got it down to where I could pay it off with one large check. Dang what a good feeling that was.

I got an incredible deal on a Bulava watch from a guy selling it outside a gas station. I thought perhaps the spelling error would make it rare...you know, like it does with coins and whatnot. I paid $10 for it and way overpaid.
