I am looking at putting a helix 15 on my older 21i...I want to use a dash mount but it appears it will cover the digital Yamaha gauges...my question is how hard will it be to connect the new graph to the engine so I can see on the graph what I would see on the gauges...rpm...mph..fuel..etc...motor is a 2019 SHO...THANKS in advance...

You'll need a NMEA starter kit and a Yamaha interface cable along with an additional t-connector to link to the Helix. Pretty easy to install and set up.

Would the cable run to the engine? If so does it plug in back there somewhere...

Yes it plugs into the main wiring harness on the motor.
