 Boerne Lake pay station still closed?

This winter whenever I have gone to Boerne lake the shack where you enter and pay has been closed, so it's been free entry. I assume they don't want to pay someone to sit there all day when there aren't many visitors. Does anyone know when they start charging again? I am thinking of going this weekend.

Last time I was there a few years ago I got there early and no one was in the shack, got in free. On the way out the guy was there, he said if you get here before me it's free??

They seem to place a person in the shack only during the summer months when school is out.

They will start charging in late May! They usually stop after Labor Day.

UPDATE: I went to Boerne lake yesterday at 9:00 am and the shack was open and I had to pay. I didn't have cash but luckily they have a credit machine, I didn't think they had one.
