Looking at these and wondering if the extra money is worth spending on a gen 4? Seems like you get WiFi with the gen 4, but I’m trying to decide if I need that. Anyone out there with an HSO on gen 4 va gen 3? Are there other features I’m not seeing with the gen 4?

I kinda jumped the gun on the post. Just saw an article that says gen 4 has auto chart live. It sounds like that makes a map as you drive around the lake. Does anyone have experience with this? Does this feature save forever, or just for that day y?

Gen3 has that as well, you can buy a 'blank card' for expanding the recording capacity of the maps. My understanding is the difference is an upgraded processor with more speed and better networking connectivity. It's possible they'll use some of the capacity in a future upgrade when they stop supporting Gen3. If you want to be more future proof (2 years vs. 1 year), go with the Gen4.

Thank you. Another question for the board. For about the same $, would you update your console to Helix so that it works with your Ultrex, or get a Live Scope for the bow? I’m leaning towards upgrade to Helix to have TM take me to waypoints with ease. I haven’t seen live scope on the water so other than the hype, I’m not sure what I’m missing.

Get the Helix and then go with Humminbird Live.

I have the Ultrex MDI connected to a Helix 12 GN4 and it works very good. Only wish I would have gone with the Ultrex Ipilot link with MSI. But I am happy with what I'm using.
