Some friends invited me to go on the trip of a lifetime. Has anyone fished there this time of year? What are the go to baits in mid March?
Thanks!

We went to El Salto last year and my friend went to Baccarac in late February before going to El Salto. They fished mainly watermelon red super flukes on dredger heads. I know that the later it gets towards May/June they switch over to swimbaits primarily.

I've spent a month at Baccarac over the past year. Right now you just need big [censored] crankbaits, football jigs, swimbaits and some topwater. I don't mess with topwater but some of the largest fish on the lake are caught on spooks.
