The Ray Hubbard Bass Club will (finally) be having our first meeting of 2021 this Thursday night March 11th. We'll get together at Bass Pro Shops in Garland downstairs in the boat area and we'll get started at 6:30. We will be taking memberships for this year. Membership costs $30.00 and it includes your entire immediate family. If you will be a new member, you must attend the meeting to join. For our new members and our older guys who forget a lot, we will introduce our Officers. We will go over the by laws changes that took place the last time we were all together and answer any questions/complaints. Other topics include:
The first tournament of the year which will take place this coming Saturday, March 13th at Cedar Creek Lake going out of Log Cabin. We'll get registration going at 5:00 at the ramp. First cast is 6:15 and lines are out at 3:00. Chips turned in by 3:30 and weigh in will start at that time by boat number. All details will be posted here in the Bass Clubs section. We will go over off limits areas and any other RHBC rules that may apply. We will also do partner finder. If you are a boater that is solo or a member in search of an open back seat let me know and we will try and get you paired up. Let's not leave anyone without a ride if possible.
Because of issues getting the permits needed to fish Lake Lewisville, we will be moving our April tournament to either Lake Texoma or Cypress Springs. We will vote on that and then decide what our finish time will be. We will also discuss our annual Open tournament that will be held on Lake Ray Hubbard on Saturday April 24th. This tournament is open to anyone who would like to fish. The entry fee is $100.00. We hope you come out and join us. We will make a full post in the Tournaments section when we have all the details set.
In other tournament news, we will need to choose a new date for our Lake Palestine tournament since we were frozen out of that one last month. We will fish that as a second tournament in a month. Also, it appears we have an issue with new fees being charged by the COE at Lake Lavon so we may have to schedule a new lake for our July tournament as well. I know, you need a scorecard to keep track. Life is never dull in these hopefully soon to be post Covid times.
One more quick thing. I'm unsure of what the mask policy will be at BPS on Thursday. Bring one with you. If there is a sign on the door asking you to wear a mask to enter, please put it on and come on in. A relatively small price to pay to see your old friends and make some new ones. If you have a question or need more info on anything drop me an e-mail or PM and I will get right back to you. See you there.
