Water temps: Live Oak 51-52 Franks 53-54 TLP 54 Rogers 54 back of creeks up to 61.
Visibility Mostly Clear 4-6' from dam to Rogers. Slightly to mostly stained starting at Cedar Ridge up to 36 bridge and Cowhouse arm.
The day started off brisk and warmed up to mid 60's, mostly clear skies and winds NE 10-20. Early morning produced several shorties on moving baits. Finesse patterns didn't seem to be working. We moved to main lake to zero in on some smallmouth and finally netted a decent keeper.
Overall it was a challenging day. It was hard to get into areas where some schools had been spotted earlier in the week due to number of boats from the Basschamps and Texas High School tournaments. If we did get into an area we wanted to fish, it was hard to discern if the fish moved on, the pattern wasn't working, or if the fish had gotten sniped by another team. Thursday we had snagged a 3, 6, and 4 back to back but days like today definitely work your emotions. 21 pounds took first place for Basschamps and almost 18 for Texas High School so I can't blame the lake for being off. LOL
