Texan Elon Musk recently tweeted @ERCOT_ISO isn’t earning that R What's the richest Texan going to do about it? Looks like he’s getting into the grid business… At least partially to help. Tesla has built a couple of battery storage facilities in Australia and California to act as Storage as Transmission proof of concepts to help with transmission constraints. This is a critical missing component toward green energy because you have to have a way to store both solar and wind energy if they are ever going to help play a larger role in the public utility grid.

He’s a good problem solver and the more back ups and options available the better for flexibility. He should look into those Tesla power wall failures* that occurred in Austin three weeks ago to investigate the weaknesses in the system (hint, it was wifi and communication loss related)
Not many failed and most worked flawlessly, but enough failed to be evaluated.
