 puter problems ?

having major problems with connections, barely got on here.
says can't detect proxy settings, have turned them off then back on, restarted. did a full scan with my security suite, restarted. have just restarted a couple of times but still can't get yahoo and a couple of other sites to load.
any suggestions on how to fix? this has happened a couple of times before but never for this long.
you tube opens
tff opens sporadically
weather opens
bank opens
seems to just be yahoo and a couple of other sites now.

What antivirus are you using? Turn it off and see if that helps. Start in Safe Mode with Networking and see if it's any better

Start with the basics. Turn off the router for five minutes and then back on. Reboot your main computer. Check all of your connections.

Unplug and plug it back in. If that doesn't work hit it lightly. If that doesnt work try kicking it. Repeat all three steps as needed.

windows won't keep auto detect proxy settings on for some reason.
this time took about 20 tries to get back on.

shut down everything but windows defender and still barely lets me on here and won't open yahoo for my email at all.
I can open most other stuff, bank, credit cards, weather etc. just tff and yahoo are giving me fits on opening.
tff shut down then just now reopened.
about to do a system reset to last week, think windows may have done another update last night and jacked my system again, happened a couple times before even though I have auto update shut off.

Windows Updates are the devil. Between them and the video drivers or the BIOS update. Getting good at not only backup recovery, but have had to do a factory reset a couple times. Being mostly a web problem, have you ran a malware detection software? Malware can make your system buggy.
