Setting the hook on those damn trees....especially one of those ones with those limbs that'll even give you a little phantom head shake so you can really drive that hook in 😂

Lake is great...i can see why people say it can fish tough tho....it all looks the same!!! Elm creek was a great place to stay...and you might even run into the legend Jimmy Houston....and might even have the opportunity to talk trash to him about the way he launched his boat 😂😂😂 and maybe even give him a ride to said poorly launched boat! LOL

Also....some of you locals are seriously being babies. Ill take your lake packed to the gills 10 times out of 10 versus any day at my home lake! No drunks, no jet skis, no wake boats....just a relatively efficient ramp full of people trying to get on them! Plus....that lake isnt a show up and limit out in an hour lake....just cuz folks are on the water doesnt mean they are catching them. I had a very good time, and ran into no issues or annoyances. I was even that goober solo launching taking forever....and no issues. Never had anyone fish on top of me....even had some good communications with others on the water so we wouldnt fish on top of each other.

So all around....the lake is great. I can see why people say it fishes tough...but it is a nice lake with nice fish...and they all are fiery [censored] hell! damn 4 pounder had me sold it was a 6+ the way it kept bulldogging down! I highly recommend elm creek too! ill be back next year....hopefully with livescope 😂🤔🤷â€â™‚ï¸

EDIT:
ALSO....whats up with all the jug lines out there? are they jug lines?

As for the jug lines, I can say for now as I have not been there in many years but, back in the day the jug lines were mostly tie-off lines for many of the local guide to tie off to.

Ok...that makes perfect sense and Im pretty sure you nailed it. They were of course jug line looking....but they look very weathered and had algae like theyd been there a long time. I just saw so many figured they were legal....but had no idea why people would jug line and leave unattended....ALL over the lake. What you mention makes sense....them being used for fishing doesnt/didnt LOL thanks cuz it had me wondering since they were really everywhere. I probably shouldve fished around them more LOL
