I keep hearing it’s about to get good at Tawakoni, but I can’t figure it out. Had 10 rods on my deck. Shallow/deep, fast/slow. Water temperatures close to 60 degrees in some areas. Water chocolate milk in warmer areas. Granted, I don’t know these lakes around here well, but c’mon. Anyone want to buy a boat?

I'll take it as a loaner for a few months and can probably put you on some fish on the lake!

One thing I have learned about Tawakoni over the years is to target the worst looking water you see. Tbere can be a dock that is totally brushed out and looks great. No bites at all. A single stick up between two docks you can catch 5 keepers in 5 casts.

Pick an area of the lake and just fish what's in front of you, you literally can turn off your graphs and just fish and you can catch fish. A lot of people overthink Tawakoni

You hit on something I think.is at least accurate to me......Tawakoni is a lake you should not overthink. Itsfull.of fish, gets less pressure than most lakes and if ain't getting bit you gotta keep moving.

I literally need 4 rods to fish Tawakoni most days and to have a fun day getting bites.

Key info in these quotes.....
IF you fish Twok like you fish every other lake, you are going to struggle. Most of the "good looking" stuff doesn't hold fish like it does on other lakes.

Try fishing a 5xd against the rip rap in 3 to 5 feet of water.. as slow as you can go tapping bottom, then pause. Most dependable bite for me the last 3 weeks. Very subtle bite.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
