After last Wednesday I thought this weekend would be pretty good. Closer it got, the more I thought that. Weather was good, wind looked good except for the direction. Got out early. Before sun up. Could not find bait. Drove all over the place. Went north, nothing...East, nothing, back west, nothing. Deep, shallow, mid depths, nothing, nothing, nothing...

Started throwing at anything out of desperation. I netted a big ol buffalo sadly, it wasn't his day. He became bait. Drug pieces of him around in all the usual places. Was back over on the east side and finally found some shad. One was a giant. Big ol Hagen Grubb Ohio River shad. When you post pictures of bait, you know its been a bad day. I broke off 7 times. Once I had to chase down a planer board. Wyatt and I worked to get the skunk out for 8 solid hours. No luck. We headed back to the dock with a skunk in the boat and our tail between our legs.

Nuts...

I'll give you an "A for effort".

I started out at the channel near the dam. No shad there headed north no shad, mid-lake - no shad, headed up Denton creek on Lewisville and no shad. Never found a school of threadfin shad. I think I saw gizzard shad but never saw clouds of threadfin. I have no idea where they went. Got skunked today. No cats, no sandbass... March is my least fav month

I always said June was my least favorite but I'm starting to think I agree with you this year...

We’re loading up the boat and headed out Tim. I plan on getting bait in the creek mouths. That’s where I plan on fishing today too. Will let y’all know how it goes...
