Anyone have any eating recommendations, pointers, Do's/Dont's for Breckenridge? Headed to ski in a week. Already heard the covid mask police are out in full force up there with an outdoor mask policy....should be fun.

We went to Breck Brewery in Dec/Jan. That was the only place we dined at while we were there. We cooked for ourselves the other days/nights. They are very strict about the mask policy in town, on the slopes. etc. Luckily for us, it was very cold (single digits most nights) so we were wearing balaclavas most days anyway.

https://www.dambrewery.com/

blue moon bakery is good for bkfst, get some bagels and kolaches, always had a bunch of good stuff.

hearthstone restaurant in breck was excellent, get the elephant garlic/brie cheese appetizer, victorian house converted to restaurant, pricey but was always worth it.
I would call now and inquire about reservations, they used to stay booked up during the season.

luigis sports bar across from the base area for pizza and beer was a good one.

those are all I remember from when I lived there, lots of places come and go in ski towns.

if you want to buy groceries for the week, city market in dillon is the place for that, always had great meat selection.

if the roads are clear I would suggest hitting dillon and frisco a couple of nights, lot less crowded usually and the dam brewery should be worth the trip.
I moved in 2001 so a lot has changed I imagine but the places I listed have been there since then, blue moon and hearthstone are both long term for sure.

you can hit city market and blue moon at the same time, they are almost across from one another.

if you plan on hearthstone, pick a night and call now to make sure you can get a table, well worth the price when I lived there.

enjoy.

pot shops should be all over too, just sayin. grin

Also-- City Market in town will fix you up with a bone in rib roast if you request. We had a group and I cooked one for New Years.

A good, inexpensive spot for lunch or early dinner is Soupz On. Lots of good soups and sandwiches.

Are you staying in Breck?

I skied Keystone first weekend of Feb with some buddies and we stayed at a house in Silverthorne. Indoor dining was still limited to 25% so we cooked at the house every night, but we did stop at Pug Ryans for après-ski each day. Good beer, decent food. Angry James Brewery has some good beer. Dillon Dam Brewery is also a good place for beers after skiing. The key to getting a table was rolling off the mountain by 4:00 each day. If you wait till the last lift closes, everywhere was full.

I like brevity. Typing or saying an entire word is wasteful.

Yes, staying in Breck...great deal on a ski in/ski out place at the base of Peak 9. We'll get out and explore Dillon and Frisco for sure. And I think my body will be done well before 4:00 each day, so no problem there.
Really appreciate all the responses everyone. I like to have an idea when I go somewhere rather than just show up and wing it.

If Windy City Pizza is still open go there. I haven’t been to Breckinridge since college but Windy City Pizza was always a stop for us.

I hear you. My calves were sore for a week after we got back.

If you get altitude sickness, buy some of the canned oxygen to use. It'll kill a headache or touch of nausea if you go Texas altitude to Breck in a day. Going from around 100' above sea level to 12,000' in less than 24 hours was a little rough. Canned oxygen will fix it though.

Canyon creek steak house

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.
