Driving to Fork on the 14th for 4 days of fishing. My dad will be flying home to Kansas City and my wife flying in to DFW Looking to ask if anyone knows of a lake I could fish early and late but closer to the city for her to spend the daytime? If you know of a place that is a good place to stay, has the potential of decent fishing and may have a marina with slip rentals - awesome. Not looking for a vacation planner but thought maybe someone knows exactly what I am looking for and can steer me there would be great. Then all I need to know is what to throw, what color, when and where Thanks for any help. Ryan
The answer is always yes to golf or fishing.

I would look into Lewisville if you're wanting to be near the city and airport. They also have rentals on the water or you can hit up a local guide.

Lewisville is a tough cold water lake. It will be tough fishing for bass. Sand bass and Crappie will be great.
Woke up this morning Got yourself a gun....

Grapevine lake is at DFW airport. Has a Basspro shop and hotels. Not a short drive from Fork though

Look at Grapevine Lake. Stay at the Gaylord Texan, Embassy Suites attached to BPS, or one of the many other hotels in the area. Try Silver Lake marina for rentals....

Grapevine was my obvious choice and will likely end up there but of the 3 major marinas there is only one opening - $5 per foot per night. I am not cheap but $100 a night isnโt justifiable.
So likely grapevine and no slip. Thanks
